About Keegan
Keegan Pittman
Over the years, my professional journey has primarily revolved around being a school counselor and mental health therapist. During this time, I've been deeply committed to providing unwavering support and a compassionate ear to my clients. My work has often involved guiding students through complex systems that are oppressive and helping their families heal. In session, my clients discover and develop essential life skills, engage in meaningful emotional processing, and cultivate a sense of self-acceptance through a non-judgmental and supportive environment that we co-create. I am particularly passionate about breaking down the stereotypes that discourage men and boys from seeking therapy or developing emotional competence. I firmly believe that seeking therapy is a courageous declaration of one's desire to lead a better life. It's an act of strength, not a sign of weakness, to embark on a journey of healing and self-understanding, not only for self but for others around you.
I firmly believe in the power of resilience, self-compassion, and the potential for change in every individual. I am deeply interested in the intersection of psychology, mindfulness, and holistic well-being for individuals while they traverse broken systems. Outside of my professional practice, I am an advocate for mental health awareness and destigmatization. I believe my clients are the experts of their own lives and I do everything I can to support them to make the best, informed, and most compassionate decisions for themselves. I enjoy staying updated on evidenced based practices and am a lifelong learner and ever growing. Furthermore, I'm dedicated to fostering a warm, inclusive, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where my clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to make lasting changes in their lives.
